Who is the Skint Scribbler?
I've been writing since I could hold a pencil. My first published piece was a poem I wrote when I was five years old, about my cat ("her fur is like silk because she drinks a lot of milk"). At 17, I published my first book, A Dream Come True, a young adult novel. I spent decades since as a journalist, writing articles and editing magazines and books. During my 14 years as Editor-in-chief of Downhome magazine, I was presented with the Gold award for column writing by the International Regional Magazines Association. I've served as adjudicator for the National Magazine Awards, and as a mentor to emerging writers.
Now I'm offering the wealth of my writing, editing and publishing experience to you. My general range of services is listed below. Contact me about your project and I'll provide a custom quote to fit your needs.
While you're browsing around the site, you'll discover my Portfolio page and my blog, Skint Stuff (in the menu at the top of the page). I'll be updating the blog every so often, so I hope you bookmark the site and check in on me from time to time. I'll strive to keep you, at best, informed or, at least, entertained.
